This is the 5th time we are running our successful and sought after hip ultrasound course. The course is suitable for medical professionals at any training level who look after infants with hip dysplasia or who provide a hip screening service, including sonographers, orthopaedic surgeons, radiologists, paediatricians and physiotherapists. The course is equally suited for junior doctors, trainees and established consultants. It will provide you with a sound understanding of the role of ultrasound in the diagnosis and treatment of hip dysplasia. It will enable you to perform and to interpret ultrasound scans.
Topics covered: pathology and patho-anatomy; anatomy and sonographic anatomy; image analysis and interpretation with an emphasis on the Graf classification; image acquisition and handling of patients with practical sessions; diagnosis, management of DDH including an overview of treatment devices. Lectures, hands-on workshops for image acquisition, and small group teaching for image analysis and interpretation are part of this course. This course follows a similar format to courses held at Professor Graf’s Institution. Professor Graf will be lecturing on all days of the course. The course will be all day Tuesday, Wednesday, and it will finish mid-day Thursday. This course is limited to 45 participants, approximately.
Highly experienced faculty will teach on the course. Professor Graf, the originator of infant hip ultrasound, will be teaching on the course on all three days.
